Giraffes are the tallest terrestrial creatures, with the longest neck. Taking advantage of this, they do not have to compete with other ungulates for grasses and other vegetable food that can be acquired at the shrubbery, since they are able to reach much higher and can consume any amount from the foliature. Furthermore, this gigantic neck assists spotting carnivores in ambush. When attacked, giraffes defend themselves with fatal kicks. There are different colour markings existing, nine giraffe subspecies live over Africa.
